Election soap poll closes early: Harris soap wins

Every four years Gray Duck Soap runs The Duck Stops Here election soap sales poll, which tracks how many soaps are sold of each candidate. This year we ran out of Harris soap, which outsold Trump, Vance, Walz and Vote! soap combined.

According to our poll, which consisted completely of Twin Cities soap sales, Kamala Harris won by a landslide: 3.6 Harris soaps to every 1 Trump soap sold. Does this mean the real candidate will win? Are polls ever wrong? Gray Duck Soap polls were wrong in 2016, but right in 2020, so we’re 50/50 for accuracy. As good as a coin toss….or a cookie.

That’s right, we’re not the only ones running polls based on sales, Hanisch Bakery in Red Wing, MN has been making candidate cookies for years and they report the opposite result: The Trump cookies outsold the Harris cookies 2-to-1.

But does it really matter who’s right? Our soap cleans and smells great no matter the label and all the Hanisch cookies taste wonderful no matter the color frosting.

What matters is that you go out and vote!
